The project team continues to work closely with FIFA World Cup 2026 organizers and local agencies to coordinate construction activities around planned events to minimize impacts to the community, visitors, and event operations. Closure start and end times listed below may be adjusted as needed to accommodate FIFA World Cup 2026 activities and other special events.
SIGNATURE BRIDGE REACHES NEW CONSTRUCTION MILESTONE
Crews successfully completed the concrete closure pour at Arch 4, a 252-foot-tall structure composed of 65 precast concrete segments. This critical operation permanently connected both sides of the arch, bringing the structure one step closer to its final form.
With Arch 4 now complete, four of the six Signature Bridge arches have been finished, marking another important achievement for the project.
FDOT remains committed to advancing construction while minimizing impacts on nearby residents, businesses, and travelers throughout the area.
I-95 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

- Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26, and Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1 – Up to two lanes on southbound I-95 from NW 29 Street to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26, and Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1 – Up to two lanes on northbound I-95 will be closed as needed from NW 8 Street to NW 29 Street between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.
NORTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO WESTBOUND S.R. 836 DETOUR
- Wednesday, June 24 – The northbound I-95 ramp to westbound S.R. 836 will be closed between the hours of 11:45 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Go north on I-95, then exit at NW 62 Street
- Turn left at NW 62 Street to access the southbound I-95 ramp
- Use the southbound I-95 exit to westbound S.R. 836 (Exit 3A)

- Wednesday, June 24 – Two lanes on the westbound MacArthur Causeway will be closed from just west of the Port Tunnel to I-395 between the hours of 11:59 p.m. and 6 a.m.
S.R. 836 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Nighttime installation of bridge pier cap segments and beams for the S.R. 836 double-decked roadway

COMPLETE CLOSURE OF EASTBOUND S.R. 836 AT NW 17 AVENUE
- Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26, and Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1 – All eastbound S.R. 836 travel lanes will be closed at NW 17 Avenue between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closure on Friday will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
The detours noted below and shown here will be in place to guide drivers around the work area. Drivers on eastbound S.R. 836 will:- Exit at NW 17 Avenue, then continue south across NW 7 Street
- Turn left at SW 1 Street and continue east
- Turn right at South Miami Avenue
- Turn right to access the ramp to I-95 north or south
- Drivers going to Biscayne Boulevard and the MacArthur Causeway can continue east on SW 1 Street and turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to connect with the MacArthur Causeway entrance ramp at NE 11 Terrace
Drivers on NW 12 Avenue wanting to access eastbound S.R. 836, I-95, Biscayne Boulevard, and the MacArthur Causeway can continue south on NW 12 Avenue, turn left at SW 1 Street, and follow the detours above.
FULL CLOSURE OF WESTBOUND S.R. 836
- Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26, and Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1 – All westbound lanes on S.R. 836 will be closed as needed from NW 12 Avenue to NW 17 Avenue between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days. Drivers can:
- Exit at the NW 12 Avenue ramp, then turn left on NW 12 Avenue
- Turn right on NW 7 Street
- Turn right on NW 17 Avenue and continue north to connect with the westbound S.R. 836 ramp

- Wednesday, June 24 and Friday, June 26 – Single and double lane closures will be implemented as needed at the intersection of NW 10 Avenue and NW 14 Street between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The lane closures are necessary for paving operations.
NIGHTTIME CLOSURE OF NW SOUTH RIVER DRIVE UNDER S.R. 836 FOR BRIDGE WORK
- Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26, and Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1 – NW South River Drive will be closed under S.R. 836 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to allow the project contractor to perform work on the bridge over the roadway. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
