The project team is working closely with FIFA World Cup 2026 organizers, and local agencies to coordinate construction activities around planned events to minimize impacts to the community, visitors, and event operations. Closure start and end times listed below may be adjusted as needed to accommodate FIFA World Cup 2026 activities and other special events.
I-95 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Installation of Intelligent Transportation System devices
- Concrete pavement replacement on I-95 between NW 8 Street and NW 17 Street
- Widening of the southbound I-95 ramp to NW 14 Street
- Installation of new guardrail from NW 17 Street to NW 8 Street

I-95 LANE CLOSURES
- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, and Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26 – Up to two lanes on southbound I-95 from NW 29 Street to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, and Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26 – Up to two lanes on northbound I-95 will be closed as needed from NW 8 Street to NW 29 Street between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
SOUTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO EASTBOUND I-395 DETOUR
- Thursday, June 18 and Sunday, June 21 – The southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Continue south on I-95, exit at the NW 8 Street ramp (Exit 3B)
- Turn left on NW 8 Street, continue east on NW 8 Street
- Turn left at Biscayne Boulevard to access the A1A North/Miami Beach Ramp

- Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26 – The southbound I-95 ramp to NW 14 Street will be closed as needed for materials delivery between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Concrete pours for the new westbound I-395 signature bridge deck, which will span over 1,000 feet across Biscayne
Boulevard and NE 2nd Avenue and be supported by the arches.
- Drainage work along Biscayne Boulevard from NE 14 Street to NE 11 Terrace and on NE 13 Street from Biscayne Boulevard to NE 2 Avenu
- Construction of signature bridge arch foundations east of Biscayne Boulevard and west of NE 2 Avenue
- Nighttime installation of precast roadway segments and concrete pours over the FEC railway
- Daytime installation of precast roadway segments and concrete pours on NW 14 Street from NW 1 Place to NW 3 Avenue
- Saturday morning sheet pile driving operations adjacent to the Biscayne Boulevard ramp to eastbound MacArthur Causeway
- Nighttime drilling of auger cast piles in the Biscayne Boulevard median just north of I-395
- Roadway operations on I-395 from MacArthur Causeway to I-95
- Nighttime arch construction work over Biscayne Boulevard requiring full closures from NE 13 Street to NE 11 Terrace
- Construction of temporary arch support towers in the median and adjacent to Biscayne Boulevard

- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, and Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26 – Up to two lanes on mainline westbound I-395 will be closed as needed from Biscayne Boulevard to I-95 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
NW 2 AVENUE DETOUR
- Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26 – NW 2 Avenue will be closed from NW 13 Street to NW 14 Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for drainage work. Drivers should follow the posted detour routes.
S.R. 836 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Nighttime installation of bridge pier cap segments and beams for the S.R. 836 double-decked roadway

- Chipping concrete from auger cast piles for foundation construction between NW 12 Avenue and NW 7 Avenue
- Foundation construction on the S.R. 836 median and adjacent roadways from NW 12 Avenue to I-95 for the new double-decked roadway
- Construction of double-decked piers at the core of the interchange

COMPLETE CLOSURE OF EASTBOUND S.R. 836 AT NW 17 AVENUE
- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, and Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26 – All eastbound S.R. 836 travel lanes will be closed at NW 17 Avenue between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closures on Friday will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
The detours noted below and shown here will be in place to guide drivers around the work area. Drivers on eastbound S.R. 836 will:- Exit at NW 17 Avenue, then continue south across NW 7 Street
- Turn left at SW 1 Street and continue east
- Turn right at South Miami Avenue
- Turn right to access the ramp to I-95 north or south
- Drivers going to Biscayne Boulevard and the MacArthur Causeway can continue east on SW 1 Street and turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to connect with the MacArthur Causeway entrance ramp at NE 11 Terrace
Drivers on NW 12 Avenue wanting to access eastbound S.R. 836, I-95, Biscayne Boulevard, and the MacArthur Causeway can continue south on NW 12 Avenue, turn left at SW 1 Street, and follow the detours above.
FULL CLOSURE OF WESTBOUND S.R. 836
- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, and Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26 – All westbound lanes on S.R. 836 will be closed as needed from NW 12 Avenue to NW 17 Avenue between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closures on June 18 and 20 will start at 12:30 a.m., and on June 24 at 1:30 a.m. Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
NOTE: On Wednesday, June 17, the detour noted below will be implemented. Drivers can:
- Exit at the NW 12 Avenue ramp, then turn left on NW 12 Avenue
- Turn right on NW 7 Street
- Turn right on NW 27 Avenue and continue north to connect with the westbound S.R. 836 ramp

- Continue north on NW 27 Avenue to access the westbound S.R. 836 entrance ramp

- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19, and Sunday, June 21, through Friday, June 26 – Two lanes on southbound NW 7 Avenue will be closed from NW 14 Street to NW 15 Street between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Drivers will be guided around the work zone.
NIGHTTIME CLOSURE OF NW SOUTH RIVER DRIVE UNDER S.R. 836 FOR BRIDGE WORK
- Wednesday, June 17, through Friday, June 19 – NW South River Drive will be closed under S.R. 836 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. to allow the project contractor to perform work on the bridge over the roadway. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
