HOLIDAY LANE CLOSURE UPDATE
In observance of the upcoming holidays, construction-related lane closures will not be in effect from Tuesday evening, December 23, through Saturday, January 3, and will resume on Sunday, January 4. Wishing you a safe and happy holidays.
I-95 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Installation of Intelligent Transportation System devices
- Concrete pavement replacement on I-95 between NW 8 Street and NW 17 Street
- Widening of the southbound I-95 ramp to NW 14 Street
- Installation of new guardrail from NW 8 Street to NW 17 Street
- Traffic railing retrofit on several bridges
FULL CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND I-95 AT S.R. 836
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19 – All southbound lanes on I-95 will be closed at S.R. 836 between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to drive piles into the ground adjacent to the highway safely. The southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will remain open during this time frame. Every effort will be made to minimize noise; however, nearby residents and businesses may experience periods of higher-than-normal noise levels.
- Non-Tolled detour route for southbound I-95:
- Exit at the S.R. 836 West Ramp, then exit at NW 14 Street
- Turn left at NW 12 Avenue, then turn left at NW 11 Street
- Turn right at NW 8 Street Road, then turn left at NW 8 Street
- Turn right at NW 3 Court to access the I-95 south ramp after NW 2 Street
- Tolled detour route for southbound I-95:
- Exit at the S.R. 836 West Ramp, then exit at NW 12 Avenue
- Turn left at NW 12 Avenue to access the S.R. 836 east entrance ramp
- Continue east on S.R. 836 to access the I-95 south ramp

I-95 LANE CLOSURES
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – Up to four lanes on southbound I-95 from NW 29 Street to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – Up to four lanes on northbound I-95 will be closed as needed from NW 8 Street to NW 29 Street between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closure will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
NORTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO EASTBOUND I-395 DETOUR
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – The northbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Exit at the NW 2 Street ramp (Exit 2B)
- Continue north on NW 3 Avenue, then turn right on NW 8 Street
- Continue east on NW/NE 8 Street
- Turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to access A1A North/Miami Beach

SOUTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO NW 14 STREET DETOUR
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – The southbound I-95 ramp to NW 14 Street will be closed as needed for materials delivery between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – The NW 8 Street ramp to northbound I-95 will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Schedule will be adjusted for special events. Drivers can:
- Go east on NW 8 Street
- Turn left on NE 1 Avenue
- Enter the westbound I-395 ramp to access northbound I-95

SOUTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO NW 8 STREET DETOUR
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – The southbound I-95 ramp to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Continue south on I-95, then exit at the SW 7 Street/Brickell Avenue (Exit 1B) ramp
- Continue to SW 8 Street, then turn left to access the northbound I-95 ramp
- Continue north on I-95 and exit at the NW 2 Street/Arena (Exit 2B) ramp
- Continue north on NW 3 Avenue to connect with NW 8 Street

I-395 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Drainage work along Biscayne Boulevard from NE 14 Street to NE 11 Terrace and on NE 13 Street from Biscayne Boulevard to NE 2 Avenue
- Daytime/nighttime construction of signature bridge arch foundations east of Biscayne Boulevard and west of NE 2 Avenue
- Nighttime installation of precast roadway segments and concrete pours from east of North Miami Avenue to NW 3 Avenue
- Saturday morning sheet pile driving operations adjacent to the Biscayne Boulevard ramp to eastbound MacArthur Causeway
NOTE: Nearby residents and businesses may experience periods of higher-than-normal noise levels during these activities. All efforts are being made to minimize noise levels to the fullest extent possible. - Routine daytime and nighttime testing of ACP foundations
- Ongoing placement of precast arch segments
- Nighttime and daytime roadway operations on I-395 from MacArthur Causeway to I-95
- Arch construction work over Biscayne Boulevard requiring full closures from NE 13 Street to NE 11 Terrace
- Construction of temporary foundation in the median and adjacent to Biscayne Boulevard for support towers
- Construction of foundations, piers and pier caps from North Miami Avenue to the west of NW 3 Avenue
SATURDAY SHEET PILE DRIVING OPERATIONS ADJACENT TO THE BISCAYNE BOULEVARD RAMP TO EASTBOUND MACARTHUR CAUSEWAY
On Saturday morning, December 20, the contractor will be vibrating steel sheet piles into the ground next to a Metromover pier at the location shown above. This work is being coordinated with the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works and is scheduled to take place during periods when the Metromover system is offline for upgrade activities. The sheet pile installation will occur between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The work is necessary to relocate an existing Metromover Pier to allow for the widening of the roadway. Every effort will be made to minimize noise as much as possible; however, nearby residents and businesses may experience periods of higher than normal noise levels. No lane closures will be required for this operation. The sheet pile work will also occur on the following Saturdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.:

I-395 MAINLINE LANE CLOSURES
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – One lane on mainline eastbound I-395 will be closed as needed from I-95 to Biscayne Boulevard between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – Up to two lanes on mainline westbound I-395 will be closed as needed from Biscayne Boulevard to I-95 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
FULL CLOSURE OF BISCAYNE BOULEVARD, NE 13 STREET AND SOUTHBOUND NORTH BAYSHORE DRIVE
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19, Sunday, December 21 and Monday, December 22 – The following closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. for drainage improvement work. Daytime lane closures will also be necessary at times. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
- All northbound and southbound lanes on Biscayne Boulevard from NE 14 Street to NE 11 Terrace
- All lanes on NE 13 Street from N Bayshore Drive to NE 2 Avenue
- All southbound lanes on North Bayshore Drive from NE 14 Street to NE 13 Street

DAYTIME LANE CLOSURES ON NE 2 AVENUE
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19 and Sunday, December 21 through Tuesday, December 23 – Up to two lanes on southbound and northbound NE 2 Avenue from NE 13 Street to I-395 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Drivers will be diverted around the work zone.
S.R. 836 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Nighttime installation of bridge pier cap segments and beams for the S.R. 836 double-decked roadway from NW 17 Avenue to the Miami River.
NOTE: Nearby residents and businesses may experience periods of higher-than-normal noise levels during these activities. All efforts are being made to minimize noise levels to the fullest extent possible. - Construction of straddle bent over eastbound S.R. 836 just west of NW 7 Avenue
- Driving steel sheets into the ground in the S.R. 836 median between NW 12 Avenue and NW 7 Avenue
- Chipping concrete from auger cast piles for foundation construction between NW 12 Avenue and NW 7 Avenue
- Foundation construction on the S.R. 836 median and adjacent roadways from NW 12 Avenue to I-95 for the new double-decked roadway
- Pier construction activities in the Miami River east bank between the shoreline and the fendering system
- Pier construction at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building parking area
- Ongoing casting of bridge caps
- Construction of double-decked piers at the core of the interchange

- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19 and Sunday, December 21 through Tuesday, December 23 – One lane on southbound NW 7 Avenue will be closed from NW 14 Street to NW 15 Street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The second southbound lane will be shifted to the east side of the roadway around the work zone.
