I-95 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

FULL CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND I-95 AT S.R. 836
- Wednesday, December 17 through Friday, December 19 – All southbound lanes on I-95 will be closed at S.R. 836 between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to drive piles into the ground adjacent to the highway safely. The southbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will remain open during this time frame. Every effort will be made to minimize noise as much as possible; however, nearby residents and businesses may experience periods of higher-than-normal noise levels.
- Non-Tolled detour route for southbound I-95:
- Exit at the S.R. 836 West Ramp, then exit at NW 14 Street
- Turn left at NW 12 Avenue, then turn left at NW 11 Street
- Turn right at NW 8 Street Road, then turn left at NW 8 Street
- Turn right at NW 3 Court to access the I-95 south ramp after NW 2 Street
- Tolled detour route for southbound I-95:
- Exit at the S.R. 836 West Ramp, then exit at NW 12 Avenue
- Turn left at NW 12 Avenue to access the S.R. 836 east entrance ramp
- Continue east on S.R. 836 to access the I-95 south ramp

I-95 LANE CLOSURES
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – Up to four lanes on southbound I-95 from NW 29 Street to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – Up to four lanes on northbound I-95 will be closed as needed from NW 8 Street to NW 29 Street between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
NORTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO EASTBOUND I-395 DETOUR
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Friday, December 19 – The northbound I-95 ramp to eastbound I-395 will be closed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Exit at the NW 2 Street ramp (Exit 2B)
- Continue north on NW 3 Avenue, then turn right on NW 8 Street
- Continue east on NW/NE 8 Street
- Turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to access A1A North/Miami Beach

SOUTHBOUND I-95 RAMP TO NW 14 STREET DETOUR
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – The southbound I-95 ramp to NW 14 Street will be closed as needed for materials delivery between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – The NW 8 Street ramp to northbound I-95 will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Schedule will be adjusted for special events. Drivers can:
- Go east on NW 8 Street
- Turn left on NE 1 Avenue
- Enter the westbound I-395 ramp to access northbound I-95

- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – The southbound I-95 ramp to NW 8 Street will be closed as needed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Continue south on I-95, then exit at the SW 7 Street/Brickell Avenue (Exit 1B) ramp
- Continue to SW 8 Street, then turn left to access the northbound I-95 ramp
- Continue north on I-95 and exit at the NW 2 Street/Arena (Exit 2B) ramp

- Daytime/nighttime construction of signature bridge arch foundations east of Biscayne Boulevard and west of NE 2 Avenue
- Nighttime installation of precast roadway segments and concrete pours from east of North Miami Avenue to NW 3 Avenue
- Saturday morning sheet pile driving operations adjacent to the Biscayne Boulevard ramp to eastbound MacArthur Causeway

- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – One lane on mainline eastbound I-395 will be closed as needed from I-95 to Biscayne Boulevard between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – Up to two lanes on mainline westbound I-395 will be closed as needed from Biscayne Boulevard to I-95 between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
FULL CLOSURE OF BISCAYNE BOULEVARD, NE 13 STREET AND SOUTHBOUND NORTH BAYSHORE DRIVE
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – The following closures will be implemented between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. for drainage improvement work. Daytime lane closures will also be necessary at times. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
- All northbound and southbound lanes on Biscayne Boulevard from NE 14 Street to NE 11 Terrace
- All lanes on NE 13 Street from N Bayshore Drive to NE 2 Avenue
- All southbound lanes on North Bayshore Drive from NE 14 Street to NE 13 Street

DAYTIME LANE CLOSURES ON NE 2 AVENUE
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Monday, December 15 through Friday, December 19 – Up to two lanes on southbound and northbound NE 2 Avenue from NE 13 Street to I-395 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Drivers will be diverted around the work zone.
S.R. 836 ONGOING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
- Nighttime installation of bridge pier cap segments and beams for the S.R. 836 double-decked roadway from NW 17 Avenue to the Miami River.
NOTE: Nearby residents and businesses may experience periods of higher-than-normal noise levels during these activities. All efforts are being made to minimize noise levels to the fullest extent possible. - Construction of straddle bent over eastbound S.R. 836 just west of NW 7 Avenue
- Driving steel sheets into the ground in the S.R. 836 median between NW 12 Avenue and NW 7 Avenue
- Chipping concrete from auger cast piles for foundation construction between NW 12 Avenue and NW 7 Avenue
- Foundation construction on the S.R. 836 median and adjacent roadways from NW 12 Avenue to I-95 for the new double-decked roadway
- Pier construction activities in the Miami River east bank between the shoreline and the fendering system
- Pier construction at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building parking area
- Ongoing casting of bridge caps
- Construction of double-decked piers at the core of the interchange
FULL CLOSURE OF S.R. 836
- Saturday, December 13 through Friday, December 19 – All eastbound and westbound lanes on S.R. 836 will be closed from NW 17 Avenue to NW 12 Avenue between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The closure on Saturday, December 13 will occur between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. The start and end times will be adjusted on special event days.
- Drivers on eastbound S.R. 836 can:
- Exit at the NW 17 Avenue South (Ballpark) ramp, then turn right at NW 17 Avenue
- Turn left at NW 7 Street
- Turn left at NW 12 Avenue to connect with eastbound S.R. 836 ramp
- Drivers on westbound S.R. 836 can:
- Exit at the NW 12 Avenue ramp, then turn left on NW 12 Avenue
- Turn right on NW 7 Street
- Turn right on NW 27 Avenue and continue north to connect with the westbound S.R. 836 ramp

COMPLETE CLOSURE OF EASTBOUND S.R. 836 AT NW 17 AVENUE
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 – All eastbound S.R. 836 travel lanes will be closed at NW 17 Avenue between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
On Friday, December 12, the closure will begin at 10 p.m. and remain continuously closed until 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, to pour concrete for an overhead bridge support structure safely. Two eastbound lanes from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 and the ramp from eastbound S.R. 836 to I-95 north will be closed at 9 p.m. Drivers heading north on I-95 can use this detour until the full closure is implemented at 10 p.m. Additionally, two westbound S.R. 836 lanes will be closed from NW 12 Avenue to NW 17 Avenue between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m.
The detours noted below and shown here will be in place to guide drivers around the work area. Drivers on eastbound S.R. 836 will:
- Exit at NW 17 Avenue, then continue south across NW 7 Street
- Turn left at SW 1 Street and continue east
- Turn right at South Miami Avenue
- Turn right to access the ramp to I-95 north or south
- Drivers going to Biscayne Boulevard and the MacArthur Causeway can continue east on SW 1 Street and turn left on Biscayne Boulevard to connect with the MacArthur Causeway entrance ramp at NE 11 Terrace
Drivers on NW 12 Avenue wanting to access eastbound S.R. 836, I-95, Biscayne Boulevard, and the MacArthur Causeway can continue south on NW 12 Avenue, turn left at SW 1 Street, and follow the detours above.
S.R. 836 LANE CLOSURES
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – Two eastbound lanes on S.R. 836 from NW 17 Avenue to I-95 will be closed as needed for bridge work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m.
- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – Two westbound lanes on S.R. 836 from I-95 to NW 17 Avenue will be closed as needed for bridge work between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The Friday closures will be implemented between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m.
CLOSURE OF NW 17 AVENUE RAMPS TO WESTBOUND S.R. 836
- Wednesday, December 10 – The NW 17 Avenue entrance ramps to westbound S.R. 836 will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Go west on NW 7 Street, turn right on NW 27 Avenue
- Continue north on NW 27 Avenue to access the westbound S.R. 836 entrance ramp

- Turn right on NW 14 Street
- Turn left on NW 14 Avenue and continue along NW 11 Street
- Turn left on NW 12 Avenue to access the S.R. 836 east entrance ramp

- Wednesday, December 10 through Friday, December 12 and Sunday, December 14 through Friday, December 19 – One lane on southbound NW 7 Avenue will be closed from NW 14 Street to NW 15 Street between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The second southbound lane will be shifted to the east side of the roadway around the work zone.
